2010 Season 8369 Yacht Club Drive Meriden, Kansas 66512 (785) 484-2261 |
It's less than one month until the Commodore's Cup 2010 Open Regatta
Plan to be there--Commodore's Cup 2010 will be held Labor Day Weekend, September 3-5, 2010. Tell your friends and other sailors about the event and encourage them to join you. There will be plenty of food and exciting on-the-water action. We'll auction wonderful items for the benefit of the Youth Sailing Program. The traditional Commodore's banquet will feature great food and, of course, partying to the sounds of a wonderful band. In short, if you miss it, you will have missed the most spectacular weekend of the sailing season. Second--Plan to Race--Whether you’re a fervent racer or a newbie, make plans to race. The Commodore's Cup is an open regatta, so everyone is pre-qualified. Plan to race your yacht or your dinghy or plan to crew with your favorite skipper. The on-the-water action is both friendly and competitive. Third--Get Involved!!!--Planning for the Commodore's Cup will start shortly. The Commodore's Cup Planning Committee always welcomes PYC members who want to help plan and run the event. Volunteering is a great way to have fun and get to know fellow PYC members. As a bonus, you'll help raise money for Youth Sailing. We need volunteers to help with: * Planning the banquet * Designing and selling the event shirts * Preparing the club for the weekend * Assisting with registration * Helping with the committee boat and scoring the regatta * Securing sponsorships and producing the event program * Organizing the auction
In short, there is a way for each and every member to help make Commodore's Cup 2010 a rousing success. If you want any additional information, or want to volunteer to help, please send an e-mail to me at matt.gatewood@gmail.com.
The 2010 Governor's Cup is tentatively scheduled for 9/17 to 9/19 at Lake Stockton. I would like to find a way to accommodate PYC racers who would like to participate. Please let me know if you would like to participate.
