Youth Sailing
Program 2008
The PYC Youth Sailing program is open to the children and and grandchildren, nieces and nephews of PYC members ages 8 to 18.
In our classes we evaluate the sailing skills of each child for class placement. Kids are separated into three levels using the ASA youth certification process to judge proficiency. The levels:
Novice: No previous sailing experience
Intermediate: Able to sail Sunfish solo comfortably
Advanced: Able to crew Sweet 16s
Two
youth regattas are scheduled. The Child-Parent Regatta will take place June 21. The Bill Sanders Regatta and Family Picnic will take place July 5. .
The Youth Sailing program is a great way to involve our kids and give them hands-on experience sailing. It’s also a great way to have fun and meet other kids at the club!
For our program to succeed, we need volunteers, especially as volunteers on Saturdays. Please consider participating.
